I am an Assistant Professor of Spanish and Linguistics in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Furman University (Greenville, SC). My research lies at the intersection of bilingualism, second language acquisition, and linguistics, with a focus on how psycholinguistic, acoustic, and experiential factors shape speech perception, production, and processing in bilinguals and second-language (L2) learners. My work examines the cross-linguistic interaction between first and second-language phonology and its effects on speech processing. At Furman University, I direct the Linguistics Lab (The Ling Lab), where I collaborate closely with undergraduate students on empirical research projects.
